06.08.22 ‑ Straight to dollin' up right after subuh prayer. Ahh the things i do for breakfast hopping.
The place opens up at 9am. So the natural thing to do is...be there at 9am! Right before making a turn towards the bakery's free parking space, I was treated with a majestic view of one of the historic space of the city, Dataran Merdeka with Sultan Abdul Samad building in the backdrop topped with the lovely clear blue sky. KL weather was being nice that particular morning after occasional morning pours the past week.
Then the moment we walked into the KLCG buliding, we were instantly teased with the smell of fresh baked goods (sigh) right at their doorstep. Am I exaggerating if I said the smell instantly told me the pastries was going to be good? 😂
A few batches of different delights were still baking in the morning oven, so my friend and I went on to order our ajisai matcha drinks first. Hers with a few shots of expresso and mine without any, just how we like any of our drinks haha. We tried out the big breakfast from their menu to fill our tummies, which was a nice savoury course to our pastry mission.
Shortly after, we went over to the bakery counter to select our pastries. All of them looked divine and beautiful. The moment i saw they serve roasted almond corissant, I knew I had to try it for my first time here. I don't know where this love for almond croissants came from but I'm liking it! As my friend said to me, I couldn't leave the place without having a taste at their danish pastry so we did, and it was amazing. The freshness of the strawberry blends so well with the sweet cream. Why not indulge more right hehe so we also had a try at their pain aux cinnamon that was just as lovely.
The super early morning run was undenyingly worth it. I can't wait to have many more trips to this place and try everything off their bakery menu. If you're heading there, may I join you? Hehe.
